Betty White Officially A TV Icon

For most people, it seems long overdue that Betty White is now officially a Favorite TV icon. That honor was bestowed upon the actress on January 7th at the 41st annual People's Choice Awards.
White approached the stage while clutching the arm of actor Chris Evans, who offered to escort the distinguished actresses onstage. White, who is 93-years-old, is still a firecracker, and showed her iconic wit as she accepted her award.
Joking that the awards show “abused the privilege” of allowing the actress to stick around as long as possible, White lit up the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. She seemed genuinely amazed at the fact that the public wished to support an actress in her nineties. After extending a sincere thank-you to all in attendance, as well as those watching at home, White left the stage while being accompanied by another funny-woman: Ellen Degeneres.
White is currently starring in the television show Hot In Cleveland, and is well-known for her spunky character portrayal of Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls. White has aged gracefully on and off the screen, and received a standing ovation at The People's Choice Awards.
Other nominees in the 41st People's Choice Awards category for Favorite TV Icon were Tim Allen, Katey Sagal, Mark Harmon, and Craig Ferguson. The title honors an actor or actresses who has exhibited profound excellence in television and a successful career on the silver screen. Even as a senior citizen, White continues to exude the confidence, charm, and wittiness that attracted so many fans since the very beginning.
